Childcare

Childcare Volunteer Programs in Ecuador – South America

Love kids and wants to share time, knowledge, skills and passion for helping those in need? If so, you are in the right place. There is nothing more rewarding than helping a child in need and bringing joy and happiness to their day.

Many of the children that volunteers work with are underprivileged and live without many of the luxuries. That means they are often lacking proper nutrition, a comfortable home, a loving family or a reliable education. These children have done nothing to deserve the challenges they face and without a good support system, they will likely never have the tools to succeed.

How to help? Volunteers from around the world are welcome to improve the lives of children from disadvantaged backgrounds and broken homes in Ecuador. Volunteers have to shower these children with immense love and care, and show them the good things of life. The ratio of staff to children at orphanages, street kid or daycare center is not good. The children need a lot of attention, but the staff cannot give them enough individual attention.

This community project is ideal and a great opportunity for motivated volunteers who love caring for children abroad.

Volunteer Tasks

As a child care volunteer in Ecuador you will be working alongside friendly local staff to provide much needed support and care at a local street kid center, orphanage or daycare center. You’ll be organizing recreational activities, playing with children, helping with homework, teaching English, assistance in the kitchen preparing the food, cleaning the center, organizing cultural events and whatever else the center for children may need.

Skills

There are no specific qualifications needed to join our childcare volunteer project in Ecuador. However, due to the interaction with local people, knowledge of the Spanish language is highly recommended for this project. Besides, volunteers should be enthusiastic, reliable, flexible, patient, friendly, creativity and initiative, have love for working and caring for children, travel with an open mind and strive to be good role models for the children. Volunteers must be 18 years old and over.
